LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - KentuckyOne Health says it plans to sell its flagship Jewish Hospital and other facilities in Louisville in order to focus on its operations in central and eastern Kentucky.
Media outlets report other facilities being sold by the health system are the Frazier Rehab Institute; Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital; Medical Centers Jewish East, South, Southwest and Northeast; Jewish Hospital Shelbyville; Saint Joseph Martin and several physician practices in Louisville and Martin, Kentucky.
The company says it will use investment adviser Morgan Stanley to market and sell the facilities.
The move will leave KentuckyOne with about 5,000 employees.
KentuckyOne was formed in 2012 by the merger of Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare and Saint Joseph Health System of Lexington. Its parent company is Catholic Health Initiatives of Englewood, Colorado.
