MARGATE, N.J. (AP) - New Jersey is getting socked by soaking rains and gusty winds spawned by a storm system that’s slowly making its way through the region.

Forecasters say anywhere from 1 to 2 inches of rain is possible before the storm finally moves out on Monday.

Rain started falling early Saturday in most areas of the state and was expected to continue through Saturday night. Some thunderstorms containing heavy rain were possible, along with wind gusts as high as 40 mph.

Partly sunny skies are expected on Sunday, but scattered showers are possible Sunday afternoon and evening.

Some minor street flooding was reported in Margate and some other southern Jersey communities. But no major travel problems were being reported.
