JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Belhaven University is honoring longtime Jackson television anchor Maggie Wade as it presents degrees.

About 450 students are graduating from the Presbyterian school in two Saturday ceremonies.

University President Roger Parrott is speaking to students earning their bachelor’s degrees in a morning ceremony. Parrott, a third-generation college president, has led Belhaven for 20 years.



Wade is speaking to graduate, adult and online students in an afternoon ceremony. A longtime anchor at Jackson’s WLBT-TV, Wade has also been an instructor at Belhaven for 14 years. The university will honor her and Seung Hee Rhee with honorary doctorates.
