KENAI, Alaska (AP) - A new group that has named itself “Kenai Rocks” is hiding small painted rocks around the small city of Kenai as a way to have fun and spark creativity.
Emily Kaiser, who started the group with her sister Kaiser, believe brightly painted rocks that turn up when people find them will lead to bright smiles, the Peninsula Clarion reported (https://bit.ly/2q0W7iN ) Monday.
“We’re trying to bring a little bit of fun into the community, let people get their creativity out there,” said Emily Kaiser.
The sisters ask people who find the painted rocks to post photos on the group’s Facebook page.
The rocks are hand painted by community members and weatherproofed.
“It’s really exciting and taking off, just within the last few days,” Emily Kaiser said. “People are starting to find rocks and will post it in our Facebook group. They either hide it again or keep it, if they like it.”
