PLYMOUTH, Vt. (AP) - Vermont’s top election official says people in the town of Plymouth are going to have to hold another vote because the polls were closed early on Town Meeting Day.
The polls in Plymouth were closed around 1 p.m. Tuesday because someone questioned why two people who were on the ballot were also working at the polls.
Plymouth Select board member Ross Tonkin says the voting was stopped after town officials were advised by the Secretary of State’s office that any vote could be challenged and so they decided to shut down the voting.
Secretary of State Jim Condos said Wednesday it will be more than 30 days before Plymouth can schedule a re-vote.
