MILWAUKEE (AP) - Wind gusts in excess of 60 mph knocked out power to about 29,000 We Energies customers, with most of the outages occurring in southeastern Wisconsin.

The Journal Sentinel reports (https://bit.ly/2n7XCb6) that about 32,000 customers have had power restored since the outages began occurring early Tuesday, as a cold front collided with a mass of unseasonably mild air that led to a record high temperature in Milwaukee for March 7.

The weather service recorded a peak wind gust of 64 miles per hour in Milwaukee on Wednesday afternoon. West Bend and Port Washington topped the morning report in southeastern Wisconsin at 58 miles per hour.

A semi tanker flipped onto its side Wednesday morning on I-94 northbound in Racine County, closing all northbound lanes of the interstate until about 3 p.m.
