MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - A Memphis mother who led police on a massive search for her 7-week-old daughter in 2014 has admitted to killing the infant.

Andrea Walker pleaded guilty Monday to reckless homicide in connection with the death of her daughter, Aniston, the Shelby County District Attorney’s office announced.

Shelby County Criminal Court Judge Mark Ward approved a plea deal between Walker and the prosecutor’s office and sentenced her to supervised probation after suspending a four-year sentence, according to a statement from the DA’s office.

It’s not clear if the suspended sentence was part of the plea agreement.

Walker, 36, was indicted on charges of first-degree murder in the perpetration of aggravated child abuse, neglect or endangerment. She also had faced child abuse and abuse of a corpse charges.

The mother had previously told police she left the baby home with her 3-year-old son in January 2014. She said Aniston was gone when she returned.

A motorcyclist discovered the infant’s body in a ditch weeks later. A medical examiner ruled the death was the result of “homicidal violence,” but didn’t give an exact cause of death or specify what kind of violence was involved.
