CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - A Camden man who fatally shot another man in the parking lot of a city laundromat is now headed to state prison.
Camden County prosecutors say 26-year-old Marcus Williams recently received as 20-year sentence. He had pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter in the September 2013 shooting death of 29-year-old Rasheef Wise.
Police responding to reports of shots fired found Wise lying between two cars in the lot. Williams fled the scene but was captured in January 2016 by the U.S. Marshal’s Service Regional Fugitive Task Force.
Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the shooting.
Williams will have to serve more than 18 years of the sentence imposed Friday before he becomes eligible for parole.
