JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) - Crews are working to spread out a massive snow pile so it can thaw in Jackson.

The Jackson Hole News & Guide reports (https://bit.ly/2ngJxHa ) that the 55-foot-high snow mountain is estimated to be about 52,371 cubic yards, the largest snow pile Jackson has had in years.

The snow was packed into the mountain after it was cleared from Jackson’s streets. Since then it has been the subject of sledding envy and office pools trying to gauge its size.

The snow is now being spread over fairgrounds so sun, rain and wind can whittle it down.
