Rep. Chris Collins of New York said Friday he is “counting on” his colleagues in the House to join him in passing the GOP’s health care plan, saying they have the choice of voting to get rid of Obamacare or to keep it intact.

“It is a binary choice right now,” Mr. Collins, a top Trump ally in Congress.

Mr. Collins said the repeal would boost the economy through retroactive tax cuts and also suggested that this could be the last time lawmakers get a crack at doing away with Obamacare.

“As the president said, we are not bringing this back up, we are going to move forward on other parts of his agenda,” he said.

Mr. Collins also dismissed the idea that low-income individuals will be hurt by the bill and downplayed a score from the Congressional Budget Office that said 14 million people will lose coverage next year under the Republican plan.

“We don’t agree with the CBO score,” he said.
