BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (AP) - A 27-year-old woman from New York’s Southern Tier is behind bars, accused of stabbing her boyfriend to death.
The Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin reports that Liz Ayala, of Binghamton, was arrested Tuesday and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of 26-year-old Gerrard Davis.
Police responding to a 911 call for a medical emergency Tuesday morning found Davis, who was taken to a nearby hospital. He died a short while later. Authorities say his death was the culmination of an “extensive history” of domestic incidents between the couple.
Police say two children in the residence at the time of the stabbing have been placed with Child Protective Services.
Ayala is being held at the Broome County jail. It couldn’t immediately be determined if she has a lawyer.
