Media Matters founder and chairman David Brock is recovering from a heart attack he suffered Tuesday in Washington.
“David Brock suffered a heart attack while working in the Washington DC office early Tuesday afternoon,” Mr. Brock’s chief of staff, former Media Matters president Bradley Beychok, said in a statement.
The statement added that Mr. Brock, 54, was “looking forward to a swift recovery” after receiving prompt medical attention at a local hospital.
“We thank everyone for their well wishes, and especially want to thank the wonderful doctors and staff who treated David. We kindly ask for privacy as he recovers,” Mr. Beychok said.

Mr. Brock, an ardent Hillary Clinton supporter, has organized several left-wing organizations, including Media Matters, Shareblue, American Bridge, and Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), to raise millions in funds for opposing President Trump’s policies.
