LOGAN, Utah (AP) - The Latest on a case where two teens are accused of shooting a girl in the head (all times local):

6:35 p.m.

A juvenile court judge has ruled there’s enough evidence for a 16-year-old boy accused of shooting a teen girl in the head to stand trial.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/2mNHkmA ) a judge issued the order Tuesday evening after authorities testified that the boy and another 16-year-old boy concocted a plan to “get rid” of 14-year-old Deserae Turner because she was annoyingly texting one of them.

Another hearing is scheduled for May 8 to decide if the boy will be tried as an adult.

Both boys are charged with attempted aggravated murder and other crimes.

An evidentiary hearing for the second boy is scheduled for Thursday.

Authorities say two teenage boys accused of shooting a girl in the head concocted the plan while playing video games and discussing wanting to ’get rid’ of the girl because she was annoyingly texting one of them.

The Deseret News reports (https://bit.ly/2naXF8n ) Cache County Sheriff’s deputy Brian Groves testified Tuesday during an evidentiary hearing in Logan about his interviews with the two 16-year-old suspects. They are charged with attempted aggravated murder.

Groves says the teen who shot Deserae Turner grabbed a gun from underneath his brother’s mattress.

Deserae was found Feb. 17 in a dry canal in in the small town of Smithfield, Utah. She survived but her family says she has been battling for her life.
