FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - Forecasters say much of Arizona will soon get some relief from recent hot weather with “a transition to a cooler and more active weather pattern.”
The National Weather Service for Flagstaff says wet weather will develop by Wednesday with cooler temperatures and rain showers in lower elevations and some snow possible by Thursday in higher elevations.
The forecast for Phoenix calls for continued warm weather into Tuesday before a change to the cooler and wetter weather as a cold front moves across the area.
Phoenix and Yuma had record highs on Sunday, with highs of 96 and 98 degrees respectively. Douglas, Flagstaff and Prescott were among other communities that set or tied records.
