JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) - J.C. Penney has listed three North Dakota stores among the 138 U.S. locations the retailer plans to close in the coming months.

In North Dakota, the stores set to close are in Dickinson, Jamestown and Wahpeton. The department store chain listed the locations on Friday.

The closing are part of a plan by J.C. Penney to cut costs and improve profitability. The closures are part of the company’s previously announced plans to focus on its best-performing stores.



KQDJ Radio (https://bit.ly/2mifJyy) reports liquidation sales at the closing stores will start on April 17.
