OGDEN, Utah (AP) - A Utah man who was rescued from a burning roof after a house exploded in Ogden last week has died.
The Deseret News reports (https://tinyurl.com/zv4qxck) 42-year-old Bobby Orris died Tuesday at University Hospital in Salt Lake City.
Witnesses said the explosion sent flames 30-feet high at about 6 p.m. on March 7.
Orris climbed from his second story window onto the roof of the house and was helped down by firefighters.
Two state parole officers had just knocked on the door of the home to do a welfare check on Orris, who was on probation and renting a room in the basement. Orris didn’t answer the door, but was spotted in an upstairs window trying to escape after the blast.
The house was destroyed. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
