TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - More than 3,000 homes and businesses are without electricity in New Jersey as a storm packing powerful wind gusts blasts across the state.

Most of the outages are in southern New Jersey, where Atlantic City Electric is reporting 2,965 customers are without service. Those outages are mainly in Gloucester and Salem counties.

JCP&L has 272 customers without power, mostly in Hunterdon County.



The state’s largest utility, PSE&G, has 9 homes and businesses without electric.
