WASHINGTON (AP) - With a winter storm expected to dump several inches of snow on the nation’s capital, the region’s transit system is temporarily suspending its paratransit service for disabled individuals.
The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority announced Sunday that its MetroAccess system will be suspended beginning 4 p.m. Monday and all day Tuesday. Changes to bus schedules may be announced later as the storm approaches.
Forecasts are still uncertain, but the National Weather Service placed the region under a winter storm watch beginning Monday evening with a possibility of 5 inches of snow or more in some spots.
