BOSTON (AP) - Derek Kellogg has been fired as Massachusetts’s basketball coach.
UMass athletic director Ryan Bamford announced the move, which comes after the Minutemen finished 15-18 this season. The team was 155-137 overall in nine seasons under Kellogg and just 67-83 in Atlantic 10 play.
The lone NCAA appearance by the Minutemen during Kellogg’s tenure was in 2013-14 when they went 24-9.
Bamford says a national search for Kellogg’s replacement is underway.
