OGDEN, Utah (AP) - A former financial analyst convicted of stealing thousands of dollars from the Utah Schools for the Deaf and Blind has been sentenced to a month in jail and ordered to pay $67,000 in restitution.
A judge in Ogden ordered 45-year-old Leslie Sue White on Tuesday to serve the 30-day sentence upon completion of a two-month restitution program.
White pleaded guilty last month to a single count of unlawful use of a financial transaction, a second-degree felony.
The Deseret News reports (https://tinyurl.com/hcfgv8k) that in exchange for her plea, additional charges were dismissed, including theft, communication fraud and unlawful use of a financial transaction.
Prosecutors say White stole more than $67,000 from school accounts dating back to 2011. She had worked for the program in some capacity for 17 years before she was fired last year.
