LAUREL, Miss. (AP) - A Mississippi man has been charged with aggravated domestic assault and kidnapping after he allegedly held his girlfriend captive for two days and carved his name in her leg.
A Friday news release from the Jones County Sheriff’s Office says 33-year-old William McCoy of Ellisville was arrested Thursday at his residence.
The release says the victim ran into a Jones County business screaming on Thursday. Someone called the victim’s mother, who went to authorities seeking help.
The release said the woman was taken to a hospital with cigarette burns, serious bruises and cuts - including the name “William” carved into her leg.
Online inmate records showed McCoy was still jailed Friday but contained no information on his attorney or whether he has entered a plea to the charges.
