LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) - Investigators say a runner struck and killed by a vehicle in South Carolina was crossing a street while the light was green.

Authorities said John Flanagan died a few hours after he was hit crossing U.S. Highway 378 in Lexington around 5:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Lexington Police Cpl. Cameron Mortenson says witnesses and surveillance video from nearby cameras show the driver had a green light when she hit Flanagan in the intersection.

Flanagan was part of a workout group called F3 for men that incorporates fellowship and faith into exercising.

The F3 group in Lexington released a statement saying Flanagan was wearing a headlamp, blinking safety lights and a reflective vest while running Wednesday.
