COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee Tech athletic director Mark Wilson has a five-year contract extension keeping him with the Golden Eagles through 2022.

The extension was reached Friday and announced Wednesday.

Wilson has been athletic director since 2004, and Tennessee Tech just finished fifth in the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Cup with a school-record 101.5 points. Six of 14 athletic programs finished in the top three in the OVC standings with baseball and tennis both first in the league, earning NCAA Tournament berths. Football, soccer, and outdoor track and field finished third.

Wilson says Tennessee Tech has momentum as he works to focus on increasing attendance, fundraising and corporate support.
