SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - The ex-husband of a former Las Vegas stripper involved with a drug trafficking ring was sentenced to a month in federal prison for filing false federal tax documents.

Couer d’Alene gastroenterologist Stanley Toelle was charged for failing to report his ex-wife’s income as a stripper.

The Spokesman-Review reported (https://bit.ly/2sBPXVJ ) Tuesday that the judge also ordered to him to pay about $47,500 to cover his tax debt and a $5,000 fine.

According to reports, Stanley Toelle’s ex-wife, Loren, ran a drug operation that distributed oxycodone, heroin and methamphetamine in four states. Toelle repeatedly said he was unaware of his ex-wife’s activities.

Loren Toelle supported his claim.

Stanley Toelle pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges in May. Previous reports say that he faced a prison sentence of up to a year.
