RAYMOND, Maine (AP) - Maine game wardens say the body of a missing canoeist has been recovered from a pond in Raymond, Maine.

WGME-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2sy0Kzh) wardens found the body of 52-year-old Christopher Hughes, of Trumbull, Connecticut, in Panther Pond after 9 a.m. Friday. He had been missing since Thursday night, and searchers found his overturned canoe.

Game wardens said Hughes was canoeing along the eastern shore of the pond with another friend who was in a separate canoe. The two became separated, and the friend heard him call out for help. Hughes was not wearing a life jacket.
