TUPELO, Miss. (AP) - A mayor and a former Miss Mississippi are filing for divorce after about a year of marriage.
The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports (https://bit.ly/2sE24V2 ) Tupelo Mayor Jason Shelton and Chelsea Rick filed for an uncontested divorce June 2 in Lee County.
Court papers show they have been separated since about May 13 - about two weeks short of their anniversary on May 28.
Rick won the Miss Mississippi pageant in 2013.
Shelton, a Democrat, begins his second term as mayor in July.
