ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A New York man who admitted to assaulting three hospital employees while high on synthetic marijuana is heading to prison.

The (Allentown) Morning Call (https://bit.ly/2rtym43 ) reports 30-year-old Joshua Hernandez pleaded guilty to aggravated assault Wednesday. Hernandez will serve one to two years in prison.

Police say Hernandez went to the emergency room of St. Luke’s Hospital’s in Allentown complaining about an overdose Feb. 7. Authorities say he became aggressive when a security guard approached him. Police say Hernandez kicked an ER technician and punched two security guards before he was restrained.

Hernandez apologized for the assaults. He said he went to the hospital for help after staying awake for a week while on synthetic marijuana.

A judge ordered Hernandez to undergo a drug evaluation and complete treatment if it’s required.
