TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A Tucson-area man remains jailed following an initial court appearance in the killing of his teenage stepdaughter.

A judge on Thursday set bond of $500,000 for 37-year-old Joshua Lelevier to be released pending trial in the asphyxiation death of 13-year-old Jayden Glomb.

Tucson police arrested Lelevier on Wednesday on suspicion of first-degree murder and abandoning or concealing a body.

A passer-by found the girl’s body dumped alongside a road in Vail near Tucson on May 11, a day after she was reported missing.

Police spokesman Sgt. Pete Dugan said Jayden was living with her mother and Lelevier at a home in Vail when she disappeared. Dugan said he didn’t know a possible motive.

Online court records don’t list an attorney for Lelevier who could comment on the allegations.
