ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - Flooded roadways were reported across southern New Jersey after a storm dropped several inches of rain on the region.

No major travel problems were being reported Saturday. But drivers were still being urged to use caution.

The rain started late Friday and continued through Saturday morning. The storms also contained strong winds that knocked down or damaged some trees.

The National Weather Service says nearly six inches fell in Atlantic City, while 2 to 5 inches of rain was reported in nearby Cape May County.

Officials say most of the flood waters had started to recede by late Saturday morning. Forecasters say more rain was expected Saturday afternoon, but no further flooding was expected.
