MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Historian Wayne Flynt is doing a public reading of his book about his decades-long friendship with Harper Lee.

Flynt on Monday will do a presentation at the Alabama Department of Archives and History in Montgomery on his recently published book “Mockingbird Songs: My Friendship with Harper Lee.”

The book through a series of letters and remembrances explores his friendship with the “To Kill a Mockingbird” author.



Flynt and Debbie Pendleton, the assistant director of public services at the Department of Archives, will read from the book.

Admission is free.
