ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - Jury deliberations have resumed in the trial of four people charged with killing a suburban Rochester man last summer and mutilating his body.

Laura Rideout, her two adult sons and her boyfriend are on trial on second-degree murder charges in the slaying of her estranged husband, 50-year-old Craig Rideout. Prosecutors say the defendants attempted to hide his identity by disfiguring his face with a corrosive liquid.

The jury failed to reach a verdict after deliberating for three days last week. Deliberations resumed Monday morning.

Authorities say Craig Rideout was strangled and beaten in his Penfield home last July. His body was found wrapped in a tarp and dumped in a forest in the Finger Lakes region. Laura and Craig Rideout were getting divorced when he was killed.
