Bill Simmons, formerly of ESPN and current CEO of The Ringer, tweeted out on Monday that he had a ’scoop’ on the Carmelo Anthony trade sweepstakes.

Anthony has been linked with a trade away from the New York Knicks for a while, but rumors have generally centered around the Cleveland Cavaliers and Houston Rockets as Anthony’s preferred destinations.

A move to Oklahoma City, however, would allow Anthony to form a “Big Three” with reigning NBA MVP Russell Westbrook and the recently acquired Paul George.

Additionally, as Simmons points out, Anthony has a personal connection in Oklahoma City. Troy Weaver, the Thunder’s assistant general manager, was on the coaching staff at Syracuse when Anthony played there and won the national championship in 2003.
