ATLANTA (AP) - John Lackey has been activated from the 10-day disabled list and will start for the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday after missing two weeks.

Lackey, seeking his first win since June 18 at Pittsburgh, was sidelined with planta fasciitis in his right foot. In 17 starts, the right-hander is 5-9 with a 5.20 ERA and 24 homers allowed, most in the NL.

Eddie Butler was optioned to Triple-A Iowa.

Lackey, one of three active pitchers with at least 400 career starts and 2,500 innings pitched, went 11-8 with a 3.35 ERA in 29 starts in helping the Cubs win the World Series last year.
