ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) - Authorities have identified a Rockford man who was shot dead during a fight at a hotel early on New Year’s Day.
The Rockford Register Star reports (https://bit.ly/2izD7T9 ) that the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office pronounced 34-year-old Joshua Jamerson dead at 5:35 a.m. Sunday at the side of the Cliffbreakers Riverside Hotel and Conference Center where he was found. Three others were shot and injured in the same incident. Police said one victim was critically wounded and two others suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Jamerson’s death is the first homicide of the year in Rockford.
Police haven’t made any arrests. Police asked for anyone with information to contact authorities.
