PUTNEY, Vt. (AP) - Fire officials say no one was injured when a fire broke out at a paper company in Putney.

Several employees were inside the building of Soundview Paper Company when the fire started late Thursday afternoon. The fire chief tells the Brattleboro Reformer (https://bit.ly/2jxa4l3 ) that the workers pulled the alarm and a sprinkler system was soon activated.

He says it appeared that the fire was coming from the duct work after it had penetrated the roof. He says there also was a fire on top of one of the primary paper processing machines. The fire was contained to that part of the building and was extinguished. The cause is under investigation.

According to reports, a similar fire broke out at the plant last January.
