BENSON, Ariz. (AP) - One mile of eastbound Interstate 10 will be closed in Benson in southeastern Arizona for about an hour Sunday morning to accommodate an oversize load.

The Arizona Department of Transportation says eastbound I-10 will be closed between State Routes 90 and 80 for about an hour beginning as early as 6 a.m. and ending by 8 a.m.

The department says the closure will allow the oversize load to travel west in the eastbound lanes between exits 303 and 302.

ADOT says drivers could get off eastbound I-10 and travel south on State Route 90 about 18 miles to State Route 82 and then travel east to State Route 80 to then go north to I-10.

However, ADOT says it’s not clear the drivers would save any time.
