Kellyanne Conway: Tiffany Trump not registered to vote in two states

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway said Thursday that Tiffany Trump, one of President Trump’s daughters, is not registered to vote in two states but that cases like Ms. Trump’s underscore the current holes in the system.

“I talked last night with Tiffany Trump and she said it is flatly false that she is registered in two states,” Ms. Conway said on NBC’s “Today” program.

Tiffany Trump and a few of Mr. Trump’s advisers are or had at one point been registered to vote in more than one state, news outlets reported Wednesday. Mr. Trump says registrations in multiple states are among the issues surrounding voter fraud he wants to investigate.

Ms. Conway said she spoke with Ms. Trump in the fall when she was trying to re-register in New York to vote because she had been registered in Pennsylvania and went through a complicated process.

Asked if chief strategist Stephen K. Bannon was registered in two states, Ms. Conway said she hadn’t discussed it with him, but she could guarantee he didn’t vote in two states.

“But doesn’t it prove the point that even people who are trying to follow the law — they haven’t been purged from the rolls where they clearly have said, ’Take me off the rolls,’ ” Ms. Conway said.

Mr. Trump apparently told congressional leaders earlier this week he believes millions of illegally cast ballots prevented him from winning the popular vote in November’s election, and on Wednesday he said he plans to ask for a “major investigation” into voter fraud.

“If people are registered wrongly, if illegals are registered to vote, which they are, if dead people are registered to vote and voting, which they do. There are some. I don’t know how many,” Mr. Trump told ABC this week.

“We’re [going to] try finding that out and the other categories that we talk about, double states where they’re registered in two states, we’re [going to] get to the bottom of it because we have to stop it,” he said.
