MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Agency of Transportation is urging drivers to slow down in winter conditions and not to “crowd the plow” after a snow plow truck was hit.

The agency says the plow was rear-ended Tuesday morning as it was clearing snow on Interstate 91 in Brattleboro.

An agency spokesman tells NBC Boston (https://bit.ly/2jSBQqQ ) that the crash was minor but that it underscored a request from plow drivers: “Don’t crowd the plow.”

The agency’s state maintenance director says plows are involved in about a dozen crashes each winter.

He says drivers often come up behind plow trucks too quickly or try to pass them in the snow and ice.
