Fire destroys tanks in Carbon County

RAWLINS, Wyo. (AP) - A fire has destroyed a group of tanks in an oil and gas field in Carbon County.

Fire Warden John Rutherford says the fire started about 9 p.m. Monday at Lamont, which is about 30 miles north of Rawlins.

Rutherford tells the Rawlins Daily Times (https://bit.ly/2ieoY0J ) that firefighters were not able to extinguish the fire until about 8 a.m. Tuesday.

He says six tanks were destroyed.

The owner of the tanks was not immediately identified.
