CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - An icy mix following snowfall has sent some cars off the roads and slowed travel in parts of northern New England. It even briefly closed the runways at the Portland International Jetport.

The winter weather wrapped up overnight with some freezing rain that added to travel woes, delaying and closing more schools on Wednesday.

The Portland International Jetport is used to winter weather, but its runways were closed for a couple of hours until they could be cleared Wednesday morning. At least 10 flights were delayed.

Temperatures were expected to warm into the 40s and 50s.

But then temperatures are expected to cool down again, just in time for more snow. The National Weather Service says some parts of northern New England could see up a foot of snow Thursday.
