DAVENPORT, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say they have found a vehicle belonging to a man reported missing at the base of a 250-foot cliff in a remote cove near the northern California city of Davenport.

The Santa Cruz Sentinel reports (https://bit.ly/2jSDAyQ ) that the unoccupied sport utility vehicle was first spotted by a passerby Sunday morning.

The California Highway Patrol says the car belongs to a man who was reported missing hours before the vehicle was found. He has not yet been identified.

It’s still unclear when the vehicle went off the cliff or if it was occupied at the time.
