FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - A Rogers teenager has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the stabbing death of a man during a party at a Springdale motel.

The Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/2ksVbPG ) that Hector Trejo entered the plea Friday in the January 2016 stabbing death of 21-year-old Eliazar Torres and was sentenced to 27 years and four months in prison.

Trejo was 17 at the time of the stabbing and was charged as an adult.

Deputy prosecutor Shane Kerr said Trejo must serve at least 70 percent of his sentence before he’s eligible for parole and likely will face deportation when he’s released prison because he isn’t a U.S. citizen.
