PATERSON, N.J. (AP) - Paterson authorities say they’ve captured a man sought in a street shooting that left another man wounded last year.
Mark Edwards was caught Friday by city and federal officials when he allegedly tried to flee on foot from a cab.
Authorities had started doing surveillance in the area after receiving a tip about Edwards, and they stopped the cab shortly after they saw him enter the vehicle. But they declined further comment about the information that led to the arrest, citing the ongoing investigation.
The 24-year-old Paterson man is charged with attempted murder and weapons charges stemming from a Sept. 27 shooting on 12th Avenue and Rosa Parks Boulevard that left a 27-year-old man hospitalized.
The victim has since recovered from his injuries.
