OGDEN, Utah (AP) - Authorities in northern Utah are warning residents of scammers offering to shovel snow for cash.

The Standard-Examiner reported Thursday (https://bit.ly/2kZJ9R3 ) that the Kaysville Police Department posted on social media that officers have received several complaints of theft or fraud involving Michaelson Land Management, a business that claims to have offices in Ogden.

Victims say they have made cash payments to a company representative for a snow removal contract. The company then hired a third-party subcontractor to the fulfill the contract, but the subcontractor was never paid. Some residents say they never received snow removal services.

Attempts to contact the company have gone unanswered.
