BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Birmingham police are investigating after a man was shot multiple times at a public housing complex.

The shooting happened Thursday night at Tom Brown Village. Sgt. Bryan Shelton, a spokesman for Birmingham police, said the victim was shot multiple times.

Al.com reports (https://bit.ly/2kYNhk6) the man died while paramedics tried to save his life. The Jefferson County coroner’s office identified the victim Friday as 37-year-old Antwon Hawkins, who lived in the area.



He died while Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service paramedics were working on him. His name is being withheld pending notification of his family.

No arrests had been reported Friday morning.
