CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for much of West Virginia.

The weather service says excessive rainfall is possible through Wednesday evening.

The flood watch is for at least 26 of the state’s 55 counties, including the cities of Clarksburg, Charleston, Huntington, Parkersburg and Summersville.

The watch area includes some of the same communities that were devastated by flooding last summer.
