NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - New Jersey’s largest city broke a temperature record as the state enjoyed an early taste of spring.
The National Weather Service says the temperature in Newark reached 74 degrees Friday, breaking the previous high of 73 for this date set in 1985.
The unseasonably warm weather is expected to continue into Saturday, before rain and thunderstorms usher in a cold front.
Temperatures across the state on Sunday are expected to be in the upper 30s.
