PHOENIX (AP) - A planned closure of a three-mile stretch of Interstate 10 on Phoenix’s west side that was postponed because of wet weather is now set for this weekend.
The Arizona Department of Transportation says eastbound I-10 between 75th and 51st avenues will be closed for road work between 10 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday. The closure had been originally scheduled for last weekend.
ADOT says drivers should consider using alternative routes such as the northbound Loop 101 to connect with Interstate 17 in north Phoenix.
The closure is for work to prepare for construction of a new freeway interchange.
Westbound I-10 in the same area was closed earlier for the same project.
