NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Newark police arrested several people following a dirt bike and all-terrain vehicle rally.
Police say the riders damaged police vehicles and disrupted traffic Sunday afternoon. NJ.com reports (https://bit.ly/2lypAPb) that the riders came from several cities including New York City, Baltimore and Philadelphia for the illegal rally.
Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said in a statement that police arrested seven people, confiscated 19 transport vehicles and seized 10 ATVs.
Newark police began a strict campaign to stop motorists from illegally riding dirt bikes and ATVs on city streets in 2016.
