LAS VEGAS (AP) - A 25-year-old woman accused of killing one pedestrian and injuring at least 34 others by intentionally driving a car onto a crowded Las Vegas Strip sidewalk has waived her right to a preliminary hearing.
KLAS-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2l9ZnnC) that Lakeisha Holloway appeared in court Wednesday after she was deemed competent to stand trial last week.
Holloway faces 71 charges including murder, attempted murder and battery with a deadly weapon in connection with the December 2015 crash.
Her lawyers have argued that she is mentally ill. She was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation at a psychiatric facility.
She’s scheduled for another court appearance Friday.
